PIN+ transformed J.D. Power’s automotive sales data from static reports into a real-time, decision-making platform used daily by global OEM teams.

Within the automotive industry, manufacturers rely on J.D. Power’s PIN data to track retail transactions, incentives, and pricing trends across thousands of dealerships. Before PIN+, these insights lived in static reports and disconnected tools—making cross-market comparison slow and cumbersome.

PIN+ re-imagines this experience as a unified data visualization platform. It integrates real-time sales, configuration, and incentive data into interactive dashboards that help OEM analysts explore performance, identify anomalies, and forecast market shifts.

My contribution centered on the visual analytics layer—designing and implementing modular dashboards, comparative charts, and map-based visualizations that reveal how brands, segments, and trims perform across regions. By building consistent interaction logic and reusable visualization patterns, these modules turned fragmented data into a coherent, explorable system, now used daily by global OEM teams to drive pricing and product decisions.

Raw and static reports made it difficult for teams to explore trends or uncover insights.

Legacy Reports Failed to Meet Modern Demands

Each report told only part of the story. Teams pieced together Excel files and PDFs from different quarters, making cross-market analysis slow and inconsistent.

Outdated Formats

Most datasets arrived as fixed summaries — numbers without context, charts without interaction. Users couldn’t explore trends beyond what was predefined in the report.

Without visual exploration, complex patterns were buried in raw tables. Important changes went unnoticed until they became problems.

Extracting metrics, rebuilding charts, and reformatting slides became a routine cycle — a process that consumed time but delivered little discovery.

The problem wasn’t the lack of data, but the lack of visibility.
Analysts didn’t need more reports — they needed a faster, clearer way to think with data.

A Faster and More Connected Reporting Workflow is Required

To overcome these challenges, what once required multiple tools and manual steps now happens in a single place.

Users should be able to log in, query data, explore trends, and share insights — all in one continuous flow, without waiting for scheduled reports.
